Shron Stotts, 32, pleaded guilty on Thursday, Jan. 25 to second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm without a permit, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced.
As part of the plea deal, prosecutors are recommending a five-year state prison sentence and Stotts would be eligible for parole after three-and-a-half years.
Egg Harbor Township police responded to a domestic violence call on Monday, Apr. 10, 2023. A woman said Stotts pointed a gun at her while she was sitting in her vehicle. She described the weapon as a gray semi-automatic gun with a purple laser sight.
Prosecutors said Stotts had left the area by the time officers arrived. Police found a piece of clothing and inside of it, they found a 9mm ghost gun matching the woman's description and four hollow-point bullets.
Prosecutors said Stotts doesn't have a valid permit to carry any gun in New Jersey. Stotts was released before his sentencing, which is scheduled for Thursday, Apr. 4.
